270 Superb model of Richard Trevithick’s Penydarren Locomotive, made in stainless steel, all wheels and cogs rotate freely, displayed on a wooden ebonised stand with a £2 inset, commemorating this historic loco, also plate attached stating “The 200th Anniversary of Richard Trevithick’s Steam Locomotive 1804-2004. Model without stand is 6″ x 4 1/2”. Really nice desktop ornament. On the 21st February 1804, the worlds 1st ever railway journey ran 9 miles from the iron works at Penydarren to the Merthyr-Cardiff Canal, South Wales, this makes Richard Trevithick the true father of railways and not George Stephenson. 271 Midland Railway Platform Seats, Approx 10 ft long. These 3 x seats were retrieved from Stockport Tiviot Dale Station on closure by the vendor who installed them at his miniature railway at Brookside Garden Centre, Poynton, Cheshire. The names on the back rails are not correct although original LNWR letters applied by the vendor for the miniature railway use. Originally these would have had “Stockport” on the back rail in similar metal letters. Two are in very good condition, the third one has got some rot to the back rail which needs replacing. All reside on a station in Cheshire in daily use. Buyers to collect from the station, arrangement to be made through GNRA, on all three lots. 271, 272, 273. Make An Offer
