Liverpool Manchester Railway Commemorative Medallion, struck for the opening of this the worlds first passenger railway, struck in pewter 1 9/10″ diameter by T. Woolfield Bazaar Liverpool September 15th 1830 making this medallion 195 years old. Very rare item, inscribed “Entrance to the Liverpool Station & Tunnel” “Published by T. Woolfield Bazaar Liverpool” flip size “Viaduct over the Sankey Canal Valley” “To commemorate the opening of the Liverpool & Manchester Railroad, sept 15th 1830. Very rare item.
