Description
Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Block Instrument, brass plated “Whalley”, stamped “L&NWR 284” to the top. This puts this instruments manufacturer under the ownership of L&NWR after the amalgamation in 1922, so a very rare instrument. In lovely condition except for the back, as its door has been broken off, probably on removal from the signal box. A good woodworker would soon replace, as original hinge is still in place. Whalley is located on the Ribble Valley line.
